Thailand is called Asia’s spa capital for good reason, and Bangkok is a haven for medi-spas and aesthetic centers offering the latest and best beauty treatments. You don’t need to go as far as a face lift or even botox to refresh your look any more. There are so many other anti-ageing beauty treatments to reboot your complexion, from hi-tech oxygen facials and even vitamin injections s to bring a bounce back into your face. Here’s where and how –
Dermaster Wellness & Aesthetic Institution
This 3-storey boutique medical center offers the full range of cosmetic surgery, dermatology, slimming, hair transplants, and anti-ageing, along with aesthetic treatments, pampering facials and massages in a spa-like environment. Popular with both women and men, Thai celebrities and even visiting Middle Eastern royalty, there’s even an exclusive VIP area with separate entrance for privacy. Overseas clients will find staff who speak English, Chinese, and Arabic, and the range of services is comprehensive, with four dermatologists, four surgeons, six nurses, and ten beauty therapists.
Dermaster even offers the latest Hollywood favourite, the Vampire Facelift, where blood is drawn from the patient’s arm, spun in a centrifuge, then injected back into the patient’s facial skin for a youthful, fresher glow. You don’t have to be that drastic though. I recommend their new 3-hour Zell Lift treatment, combining cell-renewing Radio Frequency technology with a relaxing spa facial plus a relaxing shoulder and hand massage, producing visible results with a firmer and fresher face.

This chic spa is conveniently located in the ultra-luxury Central Embassy Mall, upstairs from Hermes, Prada, Gucci and the like. Among the many lavish spa offerings are a selection of Anti-Ageing Signature treatment programs. Treatments are individually customized to each client’s condition, starting with a consultation with an Anti-ageing doctor and a simple blood analysis.
Signature treatments include Face Cell, where 16 mini injections of vitamins are injected into the acupressure points on the face, resulting in a radiant complexion within two days. I also recommend the IV Therapy, a personalized vitamin cocktail delivered directly into the bloodstream by IV drip, during which the client can have rejuvenating oxygen facial that sprays oxygen onto the face where it is absorbed directly into the dermis. There are lavish and lengthy body treatments to firm up the body too. Thai and even Korean celebrities come regularly to maintain their looks for their screen close ups.

The Spa Studio at the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok
This is a separate beauty center from the hotel’s well known Oriental Spa, located a ferry boat ride across the river in a separate building. The Spa Studio is located in the hotel’s historic garden wing upstairs from the legendary Author’s Lounge, and is the only place in Bangkok offering German QMS Medicosmetics facial treatments for Anti-Ageing.
I highly recommend the Advanced Cellular Hydration , a 75- minute facial with a cleansing, exfoliating, and a peel off mask that removes the top layer of tired old skin revealing the fresh new skin underneath. The 45-minutr Age-Defying Skin Firming facial uses a special machine that massages the face in wave-like motions with a vacuum suction action that stimulates the muscles. It feels weird having your face vacuumed but is also strangely relaxing. The total result is a baby- soft, fresh, radiant complexion that you can feel immediately afterwards
The Spa Studio was created to offer convenient, quick beauty services for busy city people who don’t have time to spend hours dawdling in the Oriental Spa, which is an experience in itself.
I.Sawan Spa at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok
This hotel residential spa is located in the relaxing pool garden five stories above Bangkok’s busiest intersection, but you’re far removed from the bustle inside a luxurious, self-contained spa cottage. I found I.Sawan’s Anti-Ageing facials a to be very high quality with excellent results. My favourite treatments here are the Intraceuticals facials, using a special machine to spray pressurized oxygen to deliver hyaluronic acid, vitamins, amino acids and amino peptides onto the skin, and known to be popular with Hollywood movie stars to firm up their faces for red carpet events.
Also recommended for very dry and dehydrated skin is the excellent Age-Defying Hydration Facial by Comfort Zone, a 90-minute treatment involving a face cleansing, exfoliating scrub, anti-oxidant facial mask, plus a neck, shoulder and hand massage, inducing a relaxing nap. You can see and feel the results right away in immaculately smooth, refreshed and healthier looking complexion. The hotel is located right in the intersection of Bangkok’s major shopping district, so you can walk right in and treat yourself after a tiring day of shopping.
